The 40-yard is the most volume we offer. The tall 8-foot walls and 22-foot length need real placement room — both for the container and the truck's swing. This is a commercial-site and large-lot container; call us if you're unsure and we'll review aerial imagery of your address before we roll out.

Best For

What fits in a 40 yard.

Major demolition

Full structure teardowns, large garage and outbuilding demos, gut renovations. When a 30 would mean a second haul.

Commercial jobs

Build-outs, retail turn-overs, office demos, large fit-outs. Commercial accounts welcome — ask about billing.

High-volume bulk waste

Large-volume light material — drywall, cardboard, foam, packaging, warehouse turnover.

Large construction

New builds and additions generating high volumes of framing scrap, packaging, and general construction debris.

Allowed Materials

What can — and can't — go in your 40-yard.

The 40-yard accepts the full range of construction, demolition, and commercial waste. Heavy aggregates are not loaded in the 40 — concrete, dirt, brick, and asphalt come in our 10-, 15-, and 20-yard containers. Hazardous materials are never allowed in any roll-off.

Demolition debris

Framing, drywall, flooring, cabinets, doors, windows, siding, decking. The full structural teardown list.

Commercial cleanout

Desks, partitions, drop ceilings, commercial carpet, lighting, retail shelving, restaurant fixtures.

Bulk light material

Drywall scrap, cardboard, packaging, foam, pallet waste, warehouse turnover material.

No heavy aggregates

Concrete, dirt, brick, and asphalt are too heavy for a 40 — those load into our 10/15/20-yard aggregate containers.

Never allowed

No wet paint, oils, fuels, batteries, tires, asbestos, propane tanks, freon-containing appliances, or medical waste.

Commercial accounts

Commercial accounts welcome — ask about billing. Standing accounts available for qualified customers.

40-Yard FAQ

Quick answers about the 40-yard.

How big is a 40-yard dumpster?
The 40-yard is our largest roll-off: roughly 22 feet long, 8 feet wide, and 8 feet tall, holding about 17 full-size pickup truck loads of debris. It's the most volume we offer — built for major demolition, commercial jobs, and high-volume bulk waste.
Will a 40-yard fit on my property?
Usually only on commercial sites and large lots. At 22 ft long with 8-ft walls, the 40 needs a long, clear run-up for both the container and the truck's swing. Most drops happen on active construction sites, commercial lots, or in the public right-of-way with a permit. Send us a placement photo and we'll spec it before we roll out.
What's the difference between a 30 and a 40?
Capacity and wall height. The 40 holds ~17 pickup loads to the 30's ~14, with 8-foot side walls versus 6 feet — both 22 feet long. Choose the 40 when a 30 would mean a second haul on a high-volume demolition or commercial job.
Can I put concrete or dirt in a 40-yard?
No — heavy aggregates like concrete, dirt, brick, and asphalt are too heavy for a 40. Those materials load into our 10-, 15-, and 20-yard aggregate containers, which are built and permitted for the weight. The 40 is for lighter, high-volume demolition and construction debris.
Do you offer commercial accounts for the 40-yard?
Yes. Tell us your typical volume and we'll set up a standing account with repeat-customer terms and reliable swap-outs. Commercial accounts welcome — ask about billing.
