20-yard dumpster rental in Victoria Heights, Bowie MD.
22 ft × 8 ft × 4 ft · holds about 9 pickup-truck loads. Serving Victoria Heights — Late-1960s Levitt V-section, final Belair wave.
If you live on Victoria Heights Drive or one of the other “V” streets off it, and you’re staring down a project that’s bigger than a weekend garage purge but smaller than a full teardown, the 20-yard roll-off is almost certainly the size you want. It’s one of our most versatile sizes, and it’s the one they rarely second-guess afterward. We’re JP Roll-Off Service, a family-owned hauler, and on most mornings we can have a 20-yard container sitting in a Victoria Heights driveway within 24 hours of your call.
Here’s why this size fits this neighborhood so well, and what you can actually expect when you book it.
Why the 20-yard is the right call in Victoria Heights
Victoria Heights is one of the last detached, full-size sections of Levitt & Sons’ Belair at Bowie development, built in the mid-to-late 1960s as the final wave before Levitt shifted toward townhomes. That timing matters more than it sounds. While the early Belair sections were filled with smaller starter Cape Cods, Victoria Heights got the larger 1960s models — ramblers, Colonials, split-levels, and the big Country Clubber. These are full-size houses, and they’re now 55 to 60 years old, which means a lot of them are hitting their first or second major renovation cycle all at once.
That’s exactly the kind of work the 20-yard handles best. It’s our “whole-house cleanout” size: roughly 22 feet long, 8 feet wide, and 4 feet tall, holding about nine pickup-truck loads of debris. For a single bedroom or a small bathroom, it would be overkill. For a true gut job spread across several rooms, or the contents of an entire house, it’s the sweet spot — big enough that you’re not calling for a swap halfway through, but not so big that it dominates the property or your budget.
Jobs this size is built for
When folks in Victoria Heights book a 20-yard from us, it’s usually one of a few projects:
- Whole-house cleanouts. Years of accumulation in the basement, the attic, the garage, and the spare bedrooms all at once. The 20-yard swallows it in a single haul.
- Multi-room remodels. Pulling cabinets, flooring, drywall, and fixtures out of a kitchen plus a bath or two. The mixed debris from a couple of rooms adds up faster than people expect, and this is the size that keeps up.
- Estate cleanouts. When a longtime family home changes hands, decades of belongings have to go. These are some of the most common calls we get out of the older Levitt sections, and we try to handle them with the patience the situation deserves.
- Mid-size roofing. A tear-off on one of these 1960s rooflines, where you need the weight capacity and the volume but aren’t dealing with a sprawling new-construction footprint.
If your project is really only one room, ask us about the 10-yard instead — no sense paying for space you won’t fill. And if you’re taking a Country Clubber or a larger split-level all the way down to the studs across the whole house, the 30-yard might serve you better. We’ll tell you honestly which way to lean; we’d rather get you the right box once than rent you the wrong one twice.
It fits the driveway — and that usually means no permit
One of the quiet advantages of Victoria Heights is the lot. Standard Levitt Belair lots run about 8,400 square feet, roughly a quarter acre, and they were laid out uniformly across the development. That gives most homes here a real driveway and a side yard with room to spare — typically a two-car driveway that takes a 20-yard container with space left over.
That matters for more than convenience. The City of Bowie only requires a right-of-way permit when a dumpster sits in a city street. Place it on your own driveway or an approved staging spot on your property, and you generally skip the permit process entirely. Because Victoria Heights homes were built as conventional single-family houses on those quarter-acre lots, driveway placement is the norm here, and most of our customers never have to deal with the city at all.
A note on associations: the original detached Levitt sections like this one are widely known as no-HOA neighborhoods, and the associations covering them tend to be voluntary civic groups rather than mandatory HOAs with architectural-control rules. That said, streets vary, so if you’re unsure whether your block has any say over placement, it’s worth a quick check — the City of Bowie keeps an official homeowners and civic association directory. When in doubt, a call to your association and a few minutes of planning save everyone a headache.
Getting one to your V-section address
Bowie’s Levitt streets are organized into those familiar alliterative letter sections — residents talk about living in the “V section” — and every street in Victoria Heights begins with that V. For us, that’s a gift. An address on Victoria Heights Drive is unambiguous; we know exactly where we’re headed and which section we’re delivering into, with no mixing up similarly named Bowie streets.
Victoria Heights is an easy run for us via Route 197 or the BW Parkway. We dispatch every morning, so most addresses are scheduled within 24 hours, and an early call may still make a same-day run. When we drop the container, we’ll set it where you want it and position it so your crew can load from the open end without fighting the placement. Roll-off dumpsters and delivery trucks are heavy and may damage some surfaces, so protecting the driveway or placement area before delivery is the customer’s responsibility. If you’re unsure about placement, call our office before scheduling.
Straightforward pricing
A 20-yard in Victoria Heights is priced by material for construction debris (other materials priced separately), since we price by what you load rather than charging the same regardless — so call for a quote. That quote includes delivery and a 14-day rental, with pickup on request — just call to schedule it. Additional days are available on request when you book, and dense or heavy materials such as concrete, dirt, brick, and shingles are quoted separately because weight matters. Weight is rarely an issue with household and remodel debris, but if you’re working with something unusually heavy — a lot of roofing tear-off or concrete, say — just mention it when you call and we’ll walk you through how that works before anything is delivered. (Aggregates like concrete and dirt are only accepted in the 10-, 15-, and 20-yard sizes.)
Call the people who own the trucks
Because we’re family-owned, when you call, you’re talking to the people who actually run the business and answer for the work. We’ll help you figure out whether the 20-yard is genuinely the right size for your Victoria Heights project, get you a clear price, and line up a delivery that fits your timeline. If you’re ready to book a 20-yard roll-off, or you just want a straight answer about your cleanout or remodel, call us at (301) 252-3586 — we’re glad to help, and we’re closer than you think.
