When a project in Victoria Heights gets big enough that you stop counting trips to the transfer station, you’ve crossed into 25-yard territory. We’re JP Roll-Off Service, a family-owned hauler, and the 25-yard roll-off is the box we send to the V-section when a homeowner or contractor is doing real construction — a home addition, a whole-house remodel, a large roof tear-off, or a commercial-scale cleanout. It runs about 18 feet long, 8 feet wide, and 6 feet tall, and holds roughly ten and a half pickup-truck loads. Pricing is per material: for a 25-yard, construction debris is priced by what you load, and other materials are priced separately — so call for a quote. That quote includes delivery, pickup on request, and a 14-day rental; additional days are available on request when you book, and heavy materials such as concrete, dirt, brick and shingles are quoted separately because weight matters. Pickup is on request, so call to schedule when you’re ready.

Why the 25-yard fits Victoria Heights specifically

Victoria Heights is one of the last “V”-section neighborhoods of Levitt & Sons’ Belair at Bowie development, built circa 1964–1968 in the final wave before Levitt shifted to townhomes over in Belair Town and Lake Village. That timing matters more than it sounds. The earlier Belair sections leaned on smaller starter models — the entry-level Cape Cods and the like — but Victoria Heights came up at the end, when Levitt was selling its larger detached homes: the Ranchers, the three- and four-bedroom Colonials, and the top-of-the-line Country Clubber, marketed as “a luxurious house reflecting the best of American country colonial design.”

That means the V-section is dominated by full-size 1960s ramblers, colonials, and split-levels — and that housing stock is now 55 to 60 years old. Homes built in that window are hitting the major-renovation cycle all at once: kitchens and baths getting gutted to the studs, basements getting finished, roofs and siding coming off whole. Those are exactly the jobs that overwhelm a 15- or 20-yard box. When you’re emptying an entire house instead of a single room, the bigger Country Clubbers and Colonials throw off enough debris that the 25-yard is the honest call.

The jobs this size is built for

We send the 25-yard to Victoria Heights for:

  • Home additions — bumping out a family room, adding a primary suite, or extending the back of a Colonial. New construction plus the demo of whatever wall you opened up adds up fast.
  • Whole-house remodels — gut jobs where flooring, cabinets, drywall, fixtures, and trim all leave at once.
  • Large roofing tear-offs — a full re-roof on one of these larger 1960s rooflines generates a lot of weight in shingles. Heavy materials such as concrete, dirt, brick and shingles are quoted separately because weight matters.
  • Commercial cleanouts — if you’re clearing out a property, an estate, or a business-scale volume, this is the size that keeps you from ordering a second box.

If your project is closer to a single bathroom, a garage purge, or a smaller roof, tell us when you call — a 15- or 20-yard is usually the smarter, cheaper fit, and we’d rather right-size you than oversell you.

Measure twice before you book the big one

A 25-yard is a tall box. At 18 feet long and 6 feet high, it needs more straight, level run than the smaller sizes, so the one piece of homework we ask Victoria Heights customers to do is measure the driveway before booking. The good news is that the V-section is built for it. Standard Levitt Belair lots run about 8,400 square feet — roughly a quarter acre — and they were laid out uniformly, so most homes here have a real driveway and side yard rather than the postage-stamp aprons you see in denser neighborhoods. On a typical Victoria Heights lot, a 25-yard sits on the driveway or an approved staging spot without ever touching the street.

Corner lots and the deeper driveways off the main spine make this even easier. If you’ve got a tight turn, a low-hanging limb, or a gate in the way, just describe it to us on the phone and we’ll talk through placement before the truck rolls.

The Bowie permit question — usually a non-issue here

Here’s where Victoria Heights customers tend to come out ahead. The City of Bowie only requires a right-of-way permit when a dumpster sits in a city street. Driveways and HOA-approved staging don’t require one. Because nearly every home in the V-section has its own driveway on that quarter-acre lot, the 25-yard goes on your own property and you skip the city permit entirely.

There’s a second wrinkle that works in your favor. The original Levitt detached sections of Belair — Victoria Heights among them — were built as conventional single-family subdivisions and are generally marketed as no-HOA neighborhoods. The associations covering these streets are typically voluntary civic associations, not mandatory HOAs with architectural-control bonds and approval committees. For a big remodel that means fewer hoops before the box arrives. We’d still suggest a courtesy check: the City of Bowie keeps an official homeowners/civic association directory, so if you’re unsure whether your specific street has any standing rules, it’s worth a two-minute look before a multi-week project.

Knowing your section makes dispatch simple

Bowie’s Levitt sections are organized into alliterative letter sections — residents will tell you they live in the “V section” — and every street within a section starts with that section’s letter. The main spine here is Victoria Heights Drive, ZIP 20715. That naming system is genuinely useful for us: an address on Victoria Heights Drive is unambiguously the V-section, so when you give us the street, our driver already knows the neighborhood, the lot layout, and the route before he rolls out.

Victoria Heights sits inside the mature, tree-lined Levitt core that became the nucleus of the modern City of Bowie — roughly 7,500 Levitt homes built on the old 2,280-acre Belair Estate — not out in the newer outlying subdivisions. We’ve run these streets enough to know the rhythm of them.

How delivery works

Victoria Heights is an easy run for us up Route 197 or the BW Parkway. We dispatch every morning, so most addresses are scheduled within 24 hours, and an early call may still make a same-day run. Because we’re family-owned, the person who picks up the phone is one of the owners — not a call center reading from a script. That means if you’re standing in the driveway trying to figure out whether the 25-yard or the 20-yard is right for your addition, you can just describe the project and we’ll give you a straight answer.

For a major construction job in the V-section — a whole-house remodel, a roof tear-off, a real addition — the 25-yard is the box that gets you through it in one drop instead of two. Call us at (301) 252-3586 and we’ll get a roll-off on your Victoria Heights driveway and talk through placement with you. If the box ever has to sit in a city street, that placement requires a right-of-way permit from the City of Bowie; customers are responsible for determining whether a permit is required and obtaining it before delivery. Family-owned, dispatched every morning, and happy to talk the project through before you commit to the big one.
